Main research fields: Engaged in the research on the formation and evolution of paleo orogenic belt crust within the Chinese mainland. He has undertaken over 20 projects of the national technology breakthrough 973 Program, national natural science foundation, department of fundamental research and investigation of national land resources, published more than 80 papers (monographs), and has made a more in-depth study and discussion over major issues of geological structure like geological evolution, collision and time of Yangtze and Sino Korean craton, exhumation process of UHP metamorphic rocks in Jiangsu and Shandong areas and Chinese continental crust composition and tectonic evolution since phanerozoic ph in China's northwest, northeast China.
